Booking Policy

Payment and Confirmation

A deposit of 1 nights’ stay is required at the time of booking to secure your booking. Only once your deposit has been received and a subsequent receipt has been e-mailed to you, has your booking been confirmed.

A balance payment is required 7 days prior to your check-in date.

Deposit or balance payments can be made by cash, cheque, BACS transfer, or by any of the following cards:
Visa Debit / Delta, Visa Credit, Maestro / Switch, Mastercard.  All card payments are FREE OF CHARGE.

All additional goods and services purchased during your stay must be paid in full at check-out.

Amendments & Cancellation

To amend or cancel your booking you must call Simon or Donna directly on: 01237 459203. Voice, text or e-mail messages for amendments or cancellations are not acceptable.

To amend or cancel your booking made through Booking.com you must contact Booking.com directly as we have no control over reservations made through Booking.com

If you cancel your booking within 7 days of the scheduled check-in time as printed on your booking confirmation; a charge equivalent to the cost of one nights’ accommodation will be levied; plus additional booking agents fee, if applicable.

If you cancel your booking more than 7 days before the scheduled check-in time as printed on your booking confirmation; a full refund will be given, unless otherwise stated. *

* If you have paid using a credit/debit card a small charge of 5% will be levied.

*If you have booked through Tripadvisor then a charge of 20% of the total booking cost will be levied (tripadvisor does not refund us any commissions if you cancel)

In the event of a no-show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

It maybe advisable to take holiday insurance. www.guestfirst.co.uk

Check-in

Normal check-in time is between 3 pm to 9 pm.  Check-in times outside of those specified, must be confirmed with us prior to arrival. If possible, it would be helpful to state your check-in time when making your booking.

In the event that we are not available upon your arrival (very rarely); or perhaps you are going to check-in exceptionally late this is no problem as we do have a security key box. We will require your mobile number and on the day of your arrival we will text you the key code and instructions on how to make yourself at home.

Check-out

Check-out time is at 10:30 am. We now use a cleaning company and therefore unable to extend check-out times.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served between 8:30 am to 9.30 am.  

We regret refunds will not be given for the complimentary breakfast not taken.

Conditions of stay

In the rare case that due to unforeseen circumstances we cannot deliver your requested accommodation; you will be offered alternative accommodation. Note: to date this has never occurred.

We reserve the right to terminate your booking immediately without being liable for any refund or compensation where you engage in unacceptable behaviour that causes a disturbance or nuisance to us or other guests.

Smoking

We operate a NO SMOKING policy throughout the inside of the property and including the self-catering apartment; should you smoke in or out the windows of any of our rooms we will kindly ask you to vacate and find alternative smoking accommodation and you will be expected to pay the balance of your full stay.  This is for the comfort and SAFETY of all of our guests.

No service animals

Children and extra beds

All guests must be 18 or over. Children are allowed in whole house bookings only.

There is no capacity for extra beds in any of the rooms

Damage

You are liable for any damage occurred during your stay: e.g.: burns, wine spills, irremovable stains, damage to fabrics or furniture, very, very heavy potent rubs or sprays, etc.  Please kindly report any damage or accidents to us immediately to avoid possible charges, most accidents can be rectified if dealt with immediately.

Liability

We shall not be liable for any loss, damage, expense, accident, injury, illness or inconvenience whether to person or property which you or any other person may suffer or sustain arising out of or in respect of the letting.

Contract

You must be able to enter into a legally binding contract and be over 18 years to make a booking with Riverside Cottage.
